PROJECT MANAGEMENT
McIntyre Petro-Canada Re-development
This project was delivered on behalf of Whitehorse Properties and KAR Group. In its role as the owner’s technical advisor, CCC managed the pre-development, design and construction of water and sanitary main line services required to activate the site, removal of existing works and site remediation, on-site preparation, and the design-build process for a new facility to be constructed in 2021.
CLEARING & FENCING
Yukon Energy Corporation Laydown Yard and LNG Siteworks
CCC managed one of the first market commercial property developments on KDFN land (on behalf of KDFN’s Whitehorse Properties LP) as a laydown yard for Yukon Energy Corporation Kulan. This involved significant engineering, site works, clearing, grubbing and fencing that provides a solid standard for how commercial and industrial land should be prepared for long-term use. In the case of the LNG Siteworks, Canyon City undertook the aspects of site clearing and preparation, installed the structural pile foundation and completed miscellaneous site items such as the main retaining bin-wall.
Whistle Bend Clearing
CCC completed phases 3 to 6 of the clearing projects in the Whistle Bend neighborhood with our KDFN clearing and equipment crew.
DEMOLITION & SITEWORKS
FH Collins Demolition & Salvage
CCC managed a multi-million dollar demolition of a local high school that contained significant hazardous materials. The project also provided an initial opportunity for CCC to develop a sizable market segment of the First Nation owned gravel resources through deployment of aggregate from the Mclean Lake quarry, inclusive of technical compliance and acceptance.
FH Collins Demolition & Salvage
The project was successful and mindful of the community, leaving behind beautiful art projects made of salvaged beams and materials. Here, FH First Nation students are working with laminated structural beams that were salvaged from the old FH Collins.
FH Collins Weight Room & Siteworks
CCC was engaged directly by the Yukon Government as prime contractor and design-builder on other facets of the existing FH Collins school and new French Secondary School such as the North & Selkirk parking areas, the new Lewes Bus-loop, basketball court and TEW Parking areas.
FH Collins Weight Room & Siteworks
CCC’s contract to build the new weight room at FH Collins Secondary School created an opportunity for a First Nation site manager to learn commercial project management skills. Her experience is now being used to manage current commercial projects underway.
RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
Chakawana Houses & Jarvis Houses
CCC worked with KDFN partners to deliver market-competitive projects, while also creating economic opportunities for KDFN citizens, businesses and government.
COMMERCIAL
St. Elias Design Build
Canyon City was appointed as the Design Builder by the Yukon Government on this this 7,400 ft2 housing facility for 10 residents. Northern Front Studio was the design lead and Evergreen Homes & Construction was led construction. CCC managed the Cultural Expression process that resulted in four art panels on the front commissioned and donated to the facility. The panels were designed and completed by Northern Cultural Expressions.
Lot Preparation - Lot 226
The cleanup of KDFN’s Lot 226 was completed in October 2017. This was a big cleanup project for CCC’s crew that also included tree clearing and installing a fence around the back of the lot. This project was to prepare the lot for commercial development the following spring.
Hammerstone Building
As Chu Níikwän’s Technical Advisor, CCC managed the design-build process to redevelop the old truss plant into a three-unit commercial office building using KDFN crews, Dev Corp equipment and cultural expression. This building tested the market for future development in the area.
Whistlebend Continuing Care Landscaping
CCC carried out the $1 million, multi-year landscape subcontract for this facility including a partnership alliance with Adorna Landscaping. The Whistlebend project includes a two-year maintenance contract. Above, exterior gazebo.
